As you trade or transfer positions, the system automatically updates your holdings and groups eligible options into combinations. Both combinations and individual legs are displayed in your portfolio. Here's how it works:
Standard Strategy Combo Orders: After execution, these enter your portfolio as combinations.
Single-Leg Opening Orders: After execution, the system attempts to pair them with your existing options or stock positions. If a valid combination is formed, it's displayed as such; otherwise, it remains as a standalone leg.
Closing Orders: The system prioritizes closing standalone single legs first. If a closing order breaks up an existing combination, the remaining legs automatically attempt to re-pair. They'll be displayed as new combinations (if eligible) or as standalone legs.

Combination Margin Calculation Your margin requirement isn't calculated based on the combinations shown in your portfolio. Instead, the system uses a separate pairing algorithm to automatically group all your positions into offsetting combinations that minimize your margin requirement and maximize your buying power.
Please note:
Due to algorithm limitations, the automatically paired combinations may not always produce the lowest possible margin for certain complex positions.
The combinations shown in your portfolio may differ from those used for margin calculation.
