The Severe Weather Trading (SWT) will be activated when the HK Observatory issues a Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above, or a Black Rainstorm Warning. or when the Hong Kong government announces extreme conditions, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) will activate its severe weather trading arrangements. Please take note to refer to the HKEX for latest updates and announcements.
2.1 The trading arrangements during Severe Weather Trading will be the same as regular trading days starting from 23 September 2024. Trading, post-trading, and listing operations, as well as Shanghai-Hong Kong and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, derivatives product holiday trading, and after-hours trading sessions will continue to operate as usual. To ensure safety, Futu’s admiralty office and physical service shops will suspend offline services during Severe Weather Trading.

During Severe Weather Trading (SWT), the deposit and withdrawal of physical stock certificates will not be processed, related operations will be postponed in accordance with the current arrangements of Severe Weather Trading (SWT).
Bank branches will remain closed when Severe Weather Trading (SWT) continues to take place throughout the day, and paper cheques processing will be delayed. When severe weather stops, the processing of paper cheques will proceed as usual.
During Severe Weather Trading (SWT), block trades and cross trades of Hong Kong stocks will not be supported. The block trades of U.S. stocks will proceed as usual.
