Cryptocurrency trading hours and trading rules
1. What are the trading hours for cryptocurrencies?
We support 7x24 hour cryptocurrency trading, except for suspension of trading due to system maintenance and other reasons not caused by force majeure.
2. When can I sell the cryptocurrency I bought? Is there any limit on how frequently I can engage in intraday trading?
The cryptocurrency you buy can be sold on the same day, i.e., T+0, and there is no limit on how frequently you can engage in intraday trading.
3. When can I withdraw the cash from selling cryptocurrency to securities account?
Generally, you can initiate transfer instruction to withdraw the cash obtained from the sale on the current day after 09:15 AM HKT on the next calendar day.
4. Can I use margin to trade cryptocurrencies?
We do not support using margin to trade cryptocurrencies.
5. Can I short sell cryptocurrencies?
It is not supported yet.
6. What is multi-upstream trading?
To enhance the execution quality and system stability of cryptocurrency spot trading, Futu now allows access to two upstream exchanges, PantherTrade (PT) and HashKey (HSK), simultaneously supporting below trading pairs and order type.
Supported multi-upstream trading pairs:
1. HKD Trading Pairs:
- BTC/HKD, ETH/HKD
2. USD Trading Pairs:
- BTC/USD, ETH/USD
Applicable Order Types:
Limit Orders Only
Taker Order Execution Logic:
When you submit a Taker order, the system will automatically route it to the exchange offering the best available terms for execution. The system continuously monitors prices across all upstream exchanges in real time, aiming to execute your orders on the best available terms.
