In an effort to promote the understanding of future contracts and strategies for trading, Futu held the first Virtual Global Futures Championship ("The Championship") during May to July this year. The Championship concluded successfully and was well received with more than 30,000 users joining the challenge. Each participant received a virtual participation fund of USD 200,000 to test their investment strategies, amongst which half of the participants successfully made a virtual profit, with some achieving capital gain of up to 15 times. Top 3 winners of The Championship will be invited to the sharing sessions on 「Futu Community」, paving the way towards Futu futures stars.

The Championship receives massive supports from Millennials, with Hong Kong female investors performing outstandingly

The Championship has proven incredibly popular among younger investors, and over 40% of the participants were born in the 90s or later. Female participants performed outstandingly well, the winner of US Futures Championship is a 90s Hong Kong female investor. She sets a record for the highest return in a single market of more than 15 times capital gain, with a total return of USD1.26 million. She also claimed the 4th Runner-up in the overall Championship, approximately USD13,000 behind the 3rd Runner-up.

The 2nd Runner-up in the US Futures Championship recorded an 11-times return, who was also a 90s from Hong Kong. The overall winner of the Championship earned more than USD1.6 million in 2 months, leaving the 2nd Runner-up nearly USD240,000 behind (with a return rate of 8 times). The top 2 and 3 winners of the overall Championship amassed a total wealth of USD1.38 million and USD1.28 million respectively.

Futu launches Micro WTI Crude Oil Futures with a lower entry barrier

To better accommodate the evolving needs of clients for futures investment, Futu has launched Micro WTI Crude Oil Futures (Micro WTI Futures). The entry-level barrier of this product is one-tenth of the standard WTI crude oil futures contract, featuring high transparency and sharper price discovery, which allows investors who are interested in investing futures to try their hand at it.

Rolls out 3 selected futures contracts from SGX, making investing easier

In addition to Micro WTI Futures, Futu also launched three futures products available on SGX: SGX Nifty 50 Index Futures, SGX TSI Iron Ore CFR China (62% Fe Fines) Index Futures and SGX SICOM TSR20 Futures, enriching its product offerings. With the provision of widening investible products from global capital markets and unified purchasing power across futures and brokerage accounts, Futu's clients could now execute their investment plan at ease.
